SCG’s culture picks of the month turn to our favourite European city for what’s cool.

We love Paris. As soon as travel becomes global once again, we’re the first on the 10 hour flight to shoot with our European team. Whenever we’ve been over there in the past, Rinse France is our go-to station on set or in the offices. And one show we never miss is Roni.

Founded by DJ Geeneus and DJ Slimzee, Rinse FM first broadcast in September 1994, in London as a pirate radio station until it was awarded a community FM broadcast licence in June 2010. It provided an essential platform for the London garage, dubstep and grime scenes as they were emerging in the early 2000’s. Writing for FACT magazine in 2007, music journalist Simon Hampson stated: "Without Rinse, grime and dubstep would be very different: indeed, it’s fair to say that they might not even exist at all.”.
